Atlassian Engineer

About the role

Wise is looking for a Senior Atlassian Engineer (IC3) to join our newly formed Work Management team. You will manage our Atlassian ecosystem, ensuring our internal tools are efficient, secure, and scalable for our global workforce.

What you'll do

• Execute technical roadmap initiatives while addressing scalability, security, and technical debt.
• Design and document system architectures, manage API integrations, and optimize platform performance.
• Build and maintain project management workflows, dashboards, and reporting structures.
• Ensure all configurations and integrations comply with DORA, SOX, and GDPR standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define long-term strategy and explain technical trade-offs.
• Promote engineering standards through automated testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing between our Tallinn and Hyderabad offices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with the Atlassian stack, including Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Atlassian Access.
• Proven ability to manage technical roadmaps, architecture, identity and SSO, and vendor integrations.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Groovy.
• Experience working with REST APIs and integration frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks using data and maintain productivity in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Background in regulated financial sectors with knowledge of DORA, SOX, and GDPR.
• Experience with Atlassian cloud migrations or instance consolidations.
• Skills in building custom apps or extensions via Atlassian Forge.
• Proficiency or certification in Agile methodologies.
