About the role

Wise is seeking a FinCrime Operations Senior Lead to oversee our Latin American financial crime strategy. You will manage a team of specialists and leads, ensuring our SME operations remain compliant with AML and CFT regulations while effectively mitigating risk.

What you'll do

• Manage and mentor a team of leads and specialists to ensure high performance and career development.
• Translate broad strategic goals into specific, actionable operational plans.
• Oversee the assessment of high-risk customers and complex business structures.
• Monitor and maintain KPIs and SLAs to ensure operational efficiency.
• Lead incident management processes from detection through to remediation.
• Collaborate with product and technical teams to improve automation and process efficiency.
• Represent the operations team during internal audits and regulatory reviews.
• Drive project management initiatives, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in financial crime operations and team leadership.
• Deep knowledge of AML and CFT regulatory frameworks and risk-based mitigation strategies.
• Strong data literacy with the ability to analyze complex metrics to guide decision-making.
• Ability to design and implement scalable, compliant operational processes.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders across all levels.
• Capability to perform root cause analysis and translate findings into process improvements.
• Expertise in managing operational incidents and developing remediation action plans.
