Senior Backend Engineer at Wildlife Studios.
About the role
The In-Game Economy team manages the systems behind every purchase, promotion, and reward across our game portfolio. You will design and evolve the backend services and SDKs that drive monetization, ensuring stability for titles like Tennis Clash, Zooba, and Sniper 3D.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the In-Game Economy stack, including SKU management, receipt validation, popup offers, and player journey services.
- Lead technical design and implementation for features across mobile and backend environments.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues such as latency spikes, scaling bottlenecks, and external store policy shifts.
- Optimize service reliability and infrastructure costs through load testing and resource management.
- Collaborate with internal game teams to integrate services and adapt the platform to evolving requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain system uptime and document incident learnings.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale backend systems, including asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and improve team output.
- Proficiency in Go and comfort working with Node.js or similar languages.
- Practical experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL stores, Kafka or similar streaming platforms, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with production observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, and distributed tracing.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with mobile in-app purchase ecosystems, including Apple StoreKit, Google Play Billing, and chargeback flows.
- Background in building SDKs or client-facing libraries, including C# for Unity.
- Knowledge of native mobile development in Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS).
- Familiarity with Dart (Flutter), TypeScript (Capacitor), Terraform, gRPC/Protobuf, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with high-throughput consumer products or gaming.
