About the role
Whitley Penn is hiring an entry-level IT Security Analyst to support data protection and system integrity across the firm. You will work within the IT department to monitor security events, manage endpoint configurations, and assist in incident remediation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Monitor and report on anti-virus, anti-exploit, and XDR software across servers and endpoints.
- Investigate security incidents and analyze data from the SIEM platform.
- Review and maintain security tools, systems, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to maintain operational security standards.
- Assist the Helpdesk and server administration teams with technical support.
- Evaluate security protocols regarding user accounts, password management, and software installations.
- Perform routine data security reporting and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology or a related field, or 3+ years of specific information security experience without a degree.
- 1+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security.
- 1+ years of experience in general information technology roles.
- 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Defender.
- Understanding of network, data, and security technologies.
- Ability to work a Monday through Friday schedule, 8am to 5pm, with overtime as required.
Nice to have
- Specialized information security certifications or licenses.
- Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Dell, or ESA appliances.
- Background in securing cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
