What you'll do

Conduct in-depth analysis of English patent texts in the fields of biology and chemistry to identify technical terminology, legal phrasing, and contextual nuances.

Perform precise English into Mongolian translation of patent documents, ensuring that claims, descriptions, and diagrams are accurately rendered in the target language.

Apply subject matter expertise to resolve ambiguous technical phrases and maintain the scientific validity of the translated content.

Utilize the XTM CAT tool to manage translation memories, term bases, and workflow processes efficiently and consistently.

Execute linguistic quality assurance checks to verify grammar, syntax, and adherence to Mongolian patent conventions and style guidelines.

Coordinate with project managers to clarify requirements, confirm timelines, and address any issues that may affect deliverables.

Adapt formatting and layout to match the original patent documents while preserving readability and legal structure in Mongolian.

Monitor project progress to meet immediate start dates and tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy or compliance.

Provide feedback on source content when necessary to improve clarity and facilitate smoother translation workflows.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of translation standards and terminology databases for future patent projects.

Participate in internal reviews to support knowledge sharing and maintain high-quality output across the language team.

Document challenges and solutions encountered during translation to build institutional memory and support less experienced translators.

Requirements

You possess a native-level fluency in both English and Mongolian, with an advanced ability to read, write, and translate complex technical content.

You hold demonstrable experience in patent translation, specifically showing work in the fields of biology and chemistry.

You have a solid understanding of patent terminology, legal language, and the structural differences between English and Mongolian patent documentation.

You are able to work independently in a remote setting, managing your time and priorities effectively without direct supervision.

You have immediate availability to begin work on an urgent project with tight turnaround times.

You are proficient in using the XTM CAT tool or similar translation technology to maintain consistency and efficiency.

You have a strong command of biological and chemical terminology in both source and target languages.
