Fraud Analyst

About the role

Join the Payments Risk Management Team to protect the business from financial losses. This role focuses on preventing fraud and suspicious activity. You will help build and improve fraud detection tools and processes.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Examine high-value transactions for potential fraud and escalate suspicious findings.
• Investigate fraudulent and high-risk transactions to find patterns and root causes, working with internal teams and merchants.
• Monitor merchant accounts for unusual behavior, such as changes in transaction patterns or dispute rates.
• Collaborate with the Risk Management team to develop frameworks for assessing merchant risk and identifying fraud.
• Help build and improve fraud management tools and processes, researching new technologies and strategies.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in financial investigations, payment fraud analysis, or a similar field.
• Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in financial data.
• Proven problem-solving ability for complex financial issues, leading to effective solutions.
• High attention to detail for accurate analysis and identification of suspicious activity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain financial information to various audiences.
• Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new fraud detection tools and adapt to evolving fraud trends.
• A proactive and self-starting approach to identify improvements and propose solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience creating and running data queries.
• Familiarity with Stripe.
• Beginner to intermediate SQL proficiency.
• Ability to create and run reports in Snowflake.
• Ability to create and run reports with Sigma.
