Associate, Securities Lending Operations

Key facts

What you'll do

• Participate in daily securities lending processes with the Senior Manager, Team Lead, Trading Desk, and other Operations Associates.
• Help maintain asset positions by processing returns from counterparties and supporting loan recalls.
• Ensure timely settlement of loans and returns, and resolve any related issues.
• Work with traders, product managers, engineers, and other operations teams to facilitate efficient trade flow and settlement.
• Communicate with counterparties via email and phone for loan execution, recalls, and discrepancy resolution.
• Identify and resolve transaction discrepancies.
• Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations and assist with audit requests.
• Support front-office operations concerning corporate actions and market movements.
• Assist with billing and month-end procedures.
• Represent Wealthsimple in external counterparty interactions and foster industry relationships.
• Contribute to developing operational procedures as the Options business expands.
• Support the treasury team with cash movements, including billing.
• Assist with the onboarding of new counterparties.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience at a broker-dealer, bank, capital markets firm, or pension fund.
• Background in finance, accounting, business, or a related technical field.
• Strong business judgment and ability to meet strict deadlines.
