About the role
In this position, you will be part of the Application Engineering team, focusing on advancing model-based autonomous driving. Your contributions will enhance both driving performance and feature-level intelligence, such as personalization and collaboration. You will work on developing machine learning behaviors that transition from assisted to fully autonomous driving, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful deployment.

What you'll do
- Design and optimize end-to-end driving models for superior performance and adaptability.
- Spearhead projects related to personalized and collaborative driving, focusing on user comfort and behavior alignment.
- Create evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess driving performance and product readiness in both closed and open-loop scenarios.
- Analyze and utilize real-world and synthetic data to enhance scenario diversity and feature development.
- Guide architectural decisions, training techniques, and deployment strategies for scalable learning systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient integration and rapid iteration.
- Provide mentorship to senior engineers and influence the long-term technical vision for autonomy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in deploying deep learning systems in production environments.
- Strong expertise in deep learning, particularly in areas such as sequential models, control, planning, or perception.
- Proficient in Python and other programming languages (such as C++ and CUDA) along with ML frameworks, especially PyTorch, with a solid grounding in software engineering principles.
- Familiarity with real-time systems or robotics, particularly involving simulation or vehicle-in-the-loop setups.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects across teams, fostering alignment and mentoring engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience in autonomous driving, imitation learning, or trajectory prediction.
- Knowledge of personalization techniques, human behavior modeling, or driver intent inference.
- Background in integrating machine learning systems with production hardware or multi-agent simulations.

Practical notes
This role offers a competitive salary range of $283,500 to $381,600, in addition to an equity package, with actual compensation determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.
