Senior Program Manager, Mapping Operations

About the role

Waymo is seeking a leader for our Mapping Operations team in Hyderabad to oversee the production of high-definition maps essential for our autonomous driving system. You will manage large-scale operations, coordinate with global engineering and product groups, and refine the processes that allow our vehicles to navigate safely.

What you'll do

• Direct vendor teams to ensure service level agreements are achieved, manage operational ramp-ups, and handle daily escalations.
• Enhance productivity and quality standards by identifying and executing process improvements.
• Lead projects focused on infrastructure, tooling, and operational scaling.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from initial concept through launch, including stakeholder coordination and scheduling.
• Report project status and performance metrics to executive leadership and internal program teams.
• Provide mentorship and professional guidance to junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in a business or technical field.
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in program management for large, dynamic environments.
• At least 4 years of experience in direct people management.
• Demonstrated history of managing scaled vendor operations.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across global teams.
• Strong analytical capabilities for interpreting complex datasets.

Nice to have

• MBA degree.
• Proficiency in SQL or Dremel for data analysis.
• Technical background sufficient to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy, rapidly changing work environment.
