About the role
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who possesses a solid background in machine learning, information retrieval, and large language models (LLMs). The chosen candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing new machine learning models aimed at enhancing customer intelligence and segmentation at Walmart.

What you'll do
- Create applications based on generative AI and LLMs, along with multi-agent workflows and various machine learning algorithms to address business needs.
- Lead the collection and validation of data, transforming it into comprehensive analytics datasets to meet project objectives.
- Apply advanced data science techniques and big data analytics to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies in data, while identifying additional data requirements for insights.
- Construct and refine statistical models and machine learning algorithms for future project replication.
- Develop tailored models and algorithms to provide business solutions and ensure scalability across large datasets.
Requirements
- Proficiency with large language models (LLMs).
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a data scientist, focusing on building and deploying solutions.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting Decision Trees, and Deep Neural Networks.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.
- Skilled in programming languages Java and Python.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 1 year of experience; or 5 years of experience in an analytics-related role.
Nice to have
- PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics.
- Familiarity with optimization models and data science frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences, with knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
