Field Software Engineer

About the role

This role is for an engineer who thrives on direct customer interaction and proactive problem-solving. You will serve as the primary technical contact for enterprise clients, working closely with commercial teams to understand their systems and anticipate challenges. Your main goal is to remove technical obstacles, ensuring customers can fully utilize the VTEX platform.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Proactively identify and resolve potential technical issues for customers before they escalate into major problems.
• Collaborate daily with Sales and Success teams within a dedicated cell, providing technical insight for renewals, expansions, and strategic discussions.
• Manage complex technical cases from start to finish, debugging and resolving implementation issues across the entire VTEX platform, including storefront, APIs, and checkout.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers on architecture, best practices, and underutilized platform features.
• Contribute to VTEX's knowledge base by documenting recurring issues, providing product feedback, and developing playbooks.

Requirements

• Direct experience building or implementing solutions on the VTEX platform, including VTEX IO / FastStore, Master Data, and core APIs.
• Understanding of how a VTEX store operates in a production environment.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Proficiency with debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools and Postman.
• A strong dedication to customer service and satisfaction.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical details to both developers and business stakeholders.
• A self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving, including asking questions and validating assumptions.

Nice to have

• Working proficiency in English.
• Experience with digital commerce platforms beyond VTEX.
• Knowledge of SEO and front-end performance optimization.
• A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Practical notes
