About the role
You will oversee fixed income trade settlement operations, taking ownership of trade exception management, inquiries, allocations, fail resolution, and position transfers on a daily basis. You will manage the complete lifecycle of corporate actions, conducting in-depth research on event details and coordinating with traders to manage elections and potential liabilities with precision. You will maintain a dynamic internal workboard that serves trading, research, and engineering teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the firm. You will reconcile our internal books and records with prime brokers and the fund administrator, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies that arise. You will collaborate closely with the Fund Accounting team to guarantee accurate transaction recording, participating in cash reconciliations and month-end review processes. You will drive operational efficiency by identifying bottlenecks and spearheading process improvements and automation initiatives where possible. You will support firm-wide initiatives such as broker onboarding, restructurings, and new account setups, ensuring a smooth and compliant implementation. What you'll do
- Oversee fixed income trade settlement operations, including trade exception management, inquiries, allocations, fail resolution, and position transfers.
- Manage the end-to-end corporate actions process by conducting research, evaluating event details, and coordinating with traders on elections and potential liabilities.
- Maintain and summarize an internal workboard leveraged by trading, research, and engineering teams, ensuring effective communication and cross-functional alignment.
- Reconcile internal books and records with the prime brokers and fund administrator, promptly investigating and resolving breaks as they occur.
- Collaborate with the Fund Accounting team to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded, including participation in cash reconciliations and month-end reviews.
- Enhance operational efficiency through process improvements and automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Support firm-wide projects such as broker onboardings, restructurings, and new account setups with attention to detail and compliance.
- Participate in cross-training programs, workflow reviews, and coverage planning to promote team scalability and resilience.
- Liaise with external service providers to identify process improvements and maintain compliance with evolving policies and control standards.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of internal policies, procedures, and best practices for fixed income operations.
Requirements
- Bring 5-10 years of finance experience, ideally in an operations role or other middle office role at a hedge fund, broker-dealer, or fund administrator.
- Demonstrate the ability to work between the hours of 7am to 5pm PST consistently.
- Show advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel, leveraging complex formulas and efficient workflows.
- Possess experience working with enterprise-level accounting software or the ability to learn it quickly and develop efficient processes.
- Highlight experience automating manual processes, with a preference for a focus on leveraging AI LLMs and AI coding tools to drive solutions.
- Show prior experience working for a hedge fund, broker-dealer, or fund administrator and handling simple accounting for monthly-close.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
- Maintain authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship for this role.

- Experience automating manual processes (preferred) with a focus on leveraging AI LLMs and AI coding tools.
- Experience working for a hedge fund, broker-dealer, or fund administrator and simple accounting for monthly-close (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting (preferred).
Practical notes
You must be available during the stated working hours between 7am and 5pm PST. There is no travel required for this position, and it is fully remote. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have authorization to work in the United States.
