Job description
Chief Product Officer at viz.ai
About the role
Viz.ai is seeking a Chief Product Officer to spearhead the strategic direction and execution of its AI-powered care pathway platform. This role is pivotal in evolving the platform from a hospital deployment tool to an indispensable resource for clinicians. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare delivery through innovative product development.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Shape and implement the long-term product vision and roadmap for the Viz.ai platform, encompassing new care pathways, AI advancements, EHR integrations, and life sciences data infrastructure.
- Make critical, revenue-informed decisions about product investment priorities, focusing on areas with genuine growth potential.
- Drive the expansion of the life sciences business as a primary growth engine, developing product capabilities and evidence to establish it as a significant revenue stream.
- Ensure product strategy is informed by clinical evidence, market intelligence, and customer feedback, and effectively communicate this strategy internally and externally.
- Achieve key product adoption metrics, including weekly active users, engagement, activation, and workflow optimization, by fostering clinician reliance on the platform.
- Treat each care pathway as a distinct product-market opportunity, managing mature products, accelerating adoption, validating new ventures, or reallocating resources.
- Develop business cases for new platform investments, define pricing strategies for new pathways, and contribute directly to product-driven Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
- Understand the operational and financial dynamics of hospital adoption, including care leakage, referral capture, service-line ROI, clinician capacity, and reimbursement.
- Establish scalable implementation capabilities through standardized configurations, self-service tools, documentation, and integration playbooks.
- Oversee the strategy for EHR integrations, including systems like Epic and Cerner, ensuring seamless integration into existing clinical workflows.
- Lead product launch strategies and commercial readiness, incorporating customer and go-to-market feedback for continuous roadmap refinement.
- Act as a cross-functional leader, identifying risks, aligning stakeholders, and driving execution in areas requiring broad business collaboration.
- Communicate product strategy and business performance effectively to executive leadership and the board.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior product leadership capacity.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading Product Design functions.
- Demonstrated success in scaling an AI-native or data-intensive SaaS platform from early adoption to widespread market penetration, with a focus on adoption and engagement metrics (WAU, activation, retention) rather than just feature releases or bookings.
- Experience with healthcare SaaS, including clinical workflows, EHR integrations, or healthcare data platforms, is highly valued.
- Familiarity with EHR integration standards and healthcare interoperability principles.
- Proven ability to develop platform-level product strategy across diverse products, customer segments, or care areas.
- A strong history of improving product adoption, engagement, activation, or retention in complex enterprise or healthcare settings.
- A deeply customer-centric approach to product development, with a history of building based on direct customer observation rather than indirect feedback. A thorough understanding of clinician behavior and the real-world workflows that influence adoption.
- An agentic-first operating mindset, prioritizing AI agents and automation over manual processes or additional headcount.
Nice to have
- Experience developing or scaling AI-native healthcare products, including AI model deployment, algorithm governance, or AI workflow design.
- Proven success in recruiting, leading, and developing distributed Product and Design/UX teams.
- Experience leading UX/UI organizations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence both executive leadership and cross-functional product teams.
