Information Security Engineer

About the role

Virtu Financial is hiring an Information Security Engineer to join our global security group. You will identify risks, design defensive measures, and collaborate with IT departments to secure our international trading infrastructure.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Assess, build, and maintain security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, anti-malware, and vulnerability management systems.
• Monitor network traffic and user behavior to detect anomalies.
• Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines and perform static analysis and dependency management for applications.
• Track evolving threats within the financial sector to keep our defenses updated.
• Manage project lifecycles from initial design to production deployment within three-month windows.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of professional experience in Information Security Engineering.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems.
• Experience managing Active Directory or similar directory services.
• Background in threat management, vulnerability mitigation, and incident response.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate technical findings clearly.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the IT sector.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency security.
