About the role
As a Senior Manager Workplace Architect, you will guide the architectural design and technical execution of Verkada's office and lab spaces. This role involves leading projects from initial concept through construction documentation, ensuring environments support global growth. You will be a key architectural resource, collaborating with various teams to deliver high-performance, well-designed spaces.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead programming, test fits, and space planning for new offices, labs, and renovations.
- Create and maintain complete architectural drawing sets, construction documents, and custom details using drafting software.
- Develop and uphold Verkada's workplace design standards, CAD template libraries, and CAFM infrastructure.
- Build and expand the Workplace Design function, including hiring and mentoring team members.
- Coordinate architectural aspects with MEP, IT, AV, low-voltage, and physical security disciplines.
- Perform constructability reviews during design to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Partner with designers, project managers, consultants, and contractors to maintain quality and schedule.
- Work with business leaders to align workplace layouts with headcount forecasts and operational needs.
- Develop scalable workplace planning strategies to enhance employee experience and support business evolution.
- Ensure all designs adhere to building codes, accessibility requirements, and internal standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related technical design field.
- 5-8+ years of experience in commercial architecture, workplace design, or corporate interiors.
- Experience leading projects from concept through construction administration.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable architectural drafting software.
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems, including MEP coordination, construction detailing, ADA, and building codes.
- Experience producing comprehensive construction documentation and coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing projects, mentoring, or leading complex initiatives.
- Strong spatial planning skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets.
- Experience with CAFM platforms.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
