About the role
Vercel is looking for a Media Engineer to manage and expand our brand presence on X, TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. You will be responsible for creating content, testing distribution strategies, and building automated systems to scale our reach within the developer community. In this role, you will own the end-to-end media production lifecycle for our social channels, ensuring that every piece of content aligns with our brand while maximizing organic reach. You will translate complex technical concepts into engaging narratives that resonate with developers and builders around the world. This position requires a hands-on builder who is comfortable both in front of the camera and in the code editor to craft stories that drive community growth. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to turn product launches and technical developments into compelling social moments. Ultimately, your work will shape how the developer community perceives and interacts with Vercel on a daily basis.

- Manage daily operations and content publishing across all social media channels, ensuring consistent uptime and quality.
- Develop and execute a unified strategy for cross-platform growth that leverages platform-specific strengths and audience behaviors.
- Produce and ship high-quality content frequently, maintaining a sustainable pace without sacrificing creativity or accuracy.
- Experiment with new formats, trending topics, and distribution methods to discover scalable ways to attract new followers.
- Integrate AI tools to accelerate the production and editing process, reducing manual overhead and increasing output efficiency.
- Create scripts or simple systems to streamline publishing workflows, reducing friction between ideation and live posts.
- Monitor metrics to refine tactics and improve performance, using data to guide decisions on content direction and timing.
- Collaborate with the marketing, product, and developer relations teams to align social campaigns with company objectives.
- Translate developments in AI and tech culture into engaging content that educates and entertains a technical audience.
- Refine the Vercel brand voice across all digital touchpoints, ensuring clarity, consistency, and personality in every interaction.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of experience managing and growing social media accounts, preferably in the tech or startup sector.
- Deep understanding of internet and developer culture, including an intuitive grasp of memes, tools, and community norms.
- Proven history of increasing audience size and engagement through data-informed content experiments.
- Ability to maintain a high-frequency content output while preserving quality and factual accuracy.
- Proficiency in creating various media formats, including video, threads, and visual assets optimized for each platform.
- Experience using AI tools for content generation and automation to enhance speed and reduce repetitive tasks.
- Ability to build or hack together custom workflows and tools using available software and lightweight code.
- Excellent storytelling and writing capabilities, with a clear, concise, and persuasive writing style for technical readers.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making and experimentation, using metrics to iterate on content and strategy.
