Your primary focus will be on facilitating significant frontend transformations, overseeing platform migrations, and deploying robust AI solutions that are ready for production. What you'll do

• Spearhead the transition from outdated frameworks, such as React and Vue, to Next.js by employing strategies that allow for gradual adoption.
• Conduct thorough technical audits of existing codebases to pinpoint architectural issues and create actionable improvement plans.
• Design high-performance applications utilizing features such as App Router, Server Components, streaming capabilities, and edge functions.
• Enhance Core Web Vitals to boost search engine optimization (SEO), increase conversion rates, and elevate the overall user experience.
• Create and implement AI solutions in production environments using the Vercel AI SDK and AI Cloud, focusing on conversational interfaces and automated workflows.
• Collaborate directly within client systems to deploy TypeScript code while mentoring internal teams through pair programming sessions.
• Build and maintain relationships with engineering and product leaders to align technical objectives with business goals.
• Assist in pre-sales activities by defining the scope of technical engagements and offering discovery insights.
• Share valuable implementation knowledge and reusable component designs with our internal Product and Engineering teams to foster best practices.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a client-facing role such as consulting or solutions engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript is essential.
• In-depth understanding of Next.js, including its features like App Router, Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR), and edge functions.
• Demonstrated success in leading extensive frontend migrations within live production settings.
• Expertise in React, particularly in advanced state management, streaming, and concurrent features.
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and developing agent-based solutions.
• Willingness to travel 25-40% of the time for client engagements.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively presenting technical information to executive-level stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or experience in building MCP servers.
• A background in enterprise-level AI transformation or automating processes through agent technology.
• Knowledge of micro-frontends, module federation, or architectures that support multiple teams.
• Contributions to open-source initiatives, particularly in projects like Next.js, React, or AI SDK.
• Experience with enterprise compliance, security assessments, and managing multi-region deployments.
• Industry experience in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, retail, or media.
• A history of public speaking engagements or publishing insights on frontend architecture topics.
