About the role
Veo builds AI-powered sports cameras that record matches and training sessions automatically, without needing a camera operator. The company serves more than 40,000 clubs across over 90 countries every week, making it one of the largest distributed sports technology platforms in the world. They are seeking a Senior Network & Security Engineer to take charge of and continuously strengthen the networking foundations at their office locations. This hands-on position centers on creating dependable, secure, and scalable network infrastructure that supports daily operations. The engineer will manage both wired and wireless networks and operate the security controls that guard the company network and all connected devices. They will work alongside internal security stakeholders and outside partners when specialized expertise or incident response is needed. The role carries the freedom to define how Veo runs its networks and to build the standards, documentation, and processes that will help the company expand into new markets. The engineer will join a small internal IT group that reports to the Head of IT. This team values mutual trust, open knowledge sharing, and genuine pride in the infrastructure work that keeps the rest of Veo functioning. The engineer will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the company's networking strategy from the ground up.

What you'll do
- Design and maintain the wired and wireless network infrastructure across all Veo office locations.
- Manage switching, routing, firewall, and VPN connectivity to ensure reliable and secure network operations.
- Implement and oversee network segmentation and access control policies for improved security posture.
- Operate security controls that protect the company network and all connected endpoints.
- Collaborate with internal security stakeholders to identify risks and apply appropriate mitigations.
- Coordinate with external security partners when specialized support or incident response is required.
- Create and maintain network documentation, standards, and operational practices for the IT team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues in a timely manner.
- Shape the long-term network architecture strategy as Veo continues to grow and expand.
- Mentor and share knowledge with team members to build a strong internal IT culture.
- Monitor network performance and capacity planning to support growing operational demands.
- Evaluate new networking and security technologies and recommend improvements to existing setups.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in networking and network security with a strong hands-on background.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-grade wired and wireless network infrastructure in office environments.
- Familiarity with switching, routing, firewall configuration, and VPN deployment and management.
- Solid understanding of network segmentation, access control, and endpoint protection principles.
- Experience operating security controls and working with both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to own problems end-to-end and take full responsibility for network reliability.
- Strong documentation skills and the capacity to establish operational standards and practices.
- Comfort with autonomous decision-making in a close-knit team that trusts open communication.
- Experience in a growing organization where infrastructure work directly supports business operations.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with AI or computer vision technologies in a professional setting.
- Knowledge of cloud networking services such as AWS or Azure virtual network setups.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools or endpoint detection and response platforms.
- Background in supporting remote or hybrid work environments with secure connectivity solutions.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent networking and security credentials.
Skills & tools
- Enterprise networking hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, or similar platforms.
- Firewall and security appliance management including Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent products.
- VPN technologies for site-to-site and remote access connectivity across distributed locations.
- Network monitoring and analysis tools for performance tracking and troubleshooting purposes.
- Endpoint protection solutions and security management platforms for device-level safeguards.
- Scripting or automation skills using Python or Bash to streamline repetitive tasks.
