Staff Software Engineer

Veho is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Route Success engineering team. In this position, you will play a key role in enhancing the experience of our driver partners as they navigate the final mile of our logistics network. Your work will involve developing tools and systems that improve the delivery process and ensure exceptional service for our clients and their customers.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy comprehensive applications and APIs that enhance the driver experience and support internal operations.
• Adapt and refine the architecture of complex, distributed microservice applications.
• Collaborate with peers through code reviews, offering constructive feedback and suggestions.
• Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineers, data scientists, and product managers, in a dynamic and collaborative setting.
• Evaluate code, requirements, and system reliability, providing insights on optimizing technology usage.
• Partner with Product and Design teams to clarify requirements, prioritize tasks, and develop new features while assessing trade-offs among business, technical, and product goals.
• Work alongside Data Science teams to incorporate data-driven insights into our product solutions.
• Utilize AI-driven development tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to enhance engineering efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other senior and software engineers, while collaborating with staff engineers across teams to ensure a unified technical strategy.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in building, testing, and deploying applications in high-traffic production environments.
• At least 4 years of experience with AWS, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and serverless technologies.
• A proactive self-starter who is eager to tackle challenges and deliver results quickly.
• Strong interest in collaborating with data science, product, and operations teams to develop innovative solutions in a new domain.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical education and experience.
• Solid foundation in software development, including knowledge of serverless architecture, data structures, and system design.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with the following technologies: AWS, TypeScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL.

Compensation Range: $185K - $220K
