Vanta is seeking a Staff Product Manager to shape the future of our data platform. This role is central to how we manage and utilize customer data, directly impacting product capabilities and business outcomes. You will drive the strategy for our data infrastructure, ensuring it scales effectively to meet the needs of a rapidly growing company.

What you'll do

• Define and manage the roadmap for Vanta's data platform, collaborating closely with engineering to plan long-term investments.
• Partner with other product teams to understand their platform needs and align roadmaps, balancing immediate requirements with future growth.
• Develop and communicate the overarching data platform strategy, supporting broader compliance and monitoring objectives.
• Navigate trade-offs between new feature development and platform stability, providing clear direction to internal teams.
• Champion the data platform across the organization, encouraging adoption and contributions from various teams.
• Engage directly with customers to gather insights on platform requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Plan for future platform scalability, including considerations for AI-driven functionalities and agent operations, looking 12-18 months ahead.
• Establish and track key performance indicators for platform initiatives, focusing on scalability, feature enablement, and data accessibility.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience supporting platform teams, with a strong preference for data platforms or data products.
• Proven track record of building and scaling data platforms from inception (0 to 1).
• Ability to operate independently, drive priorities, and proactively communicate with engineering, product peers, and stakeholders.
• Experience developing structured frameworks for managing complex platform development, including clear goal setting and progress tracking.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust with engineering and other teams through clear, objective decision-making.
• Solid technical understanding of data platform concepts, including data ingestion, storage, querying, and APIs.
• A results-oriented approach, consistently aligning platform efforts with business and customer objectives.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring future sponsorship.
