Engineering Manager

About the role

Lead a newly formed team focused on a vital product area within Vanta's GRC Program Orchestration. This position offers a chance to influence how Vanta's customers comprehend, visualize, and manage their compliance and security programs.

What you'll do

• Cultivate and expand a high-performing engineering group by providing leadership, coaching, and strategic hiring, while identifying operational improvements and elevating engineering standards.
• Oversee the execution of significant initiatives, including a roadmap for reporting infrastructure, enterprise reporting features, AI-driven insights, and scalable data foundations.
• Collaborate with Product and other engineering departments to define the long-term vision and architectural direction for the Reporting domain and data-centric product experiences.
• Navigate complex and evolving challenges, balancing immediate customer needs with long-term platform development.
• Work closely with Product, Design, Platform, and business stakeholders to advance Vanta's reporting strategy and enterprise data capabilities.

Requirements

• Possess at least 4 years of experience in a full-time engineering management capacity, with a proven history of managing teams of 8-12 engineers.
• Have prior experience managing product engineering teams that developed reporting or data visualization products.
• Demonstrate strong technical acumen, ideally from a senior or staff engineering background, capable of guiding decisions on data infrastructure and product architecture.
• Show a consistent record of achieving results across multiple projects while upholding quality and team productivity.
• Have experience in defining product and technical strategies in partnership with Product and Design teams.
• Be open to utilizing AI to enhance personal skills and work output, showing curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in its responsible application for efficiency and impact.
