Senior Analytics Engineer

About the role

This position focuses on building the core infrastructure for Vanta's analytics capabilities. You will collaborate with data scientists and business teams to ensure our data systems support current and future business intelligence needs.

What you'll do

• Construct sophisticated data structures to support dashboards, self-service analytics, and data science initiatives.
• Develop efficient and scalable SQL queries for large, diverse data warehouses.
• Enhance AI tools by creating semantic layers and implementing observability, advising on data best practices.
• Maintain and enhance the data infrastructure required for data-driven decision making.
• Contribute to the development of front-end applications to make analytical data accessible across the company.
• Work with Product and Corporate Engineering teams to optimize source systems for enterprise-wide reporting.

Requirements

• A minimum of four years of experience working with data.
• At least two years of experience in Software Engineering or a comparable field.
• Proficiency with common analytics tools, including dbt (required), Stitch/Fivetran, Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift, Airflow, Dagster, and Looker/Mode/Sigma.
• A systems-thinking and software engineering approach to analytics engineering, focusing on building manageable data frameworks rather than isolated queries.
• Deep understanding of modern dimensional and fact modeling techniques.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring future employer sponsorship.

• Experience with AI tools to improve efficiency and impact, demonstrating curiosity and responsible application.
