Full Stack Developer

About the role

This position supports the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of critical web applications within the VA environment. You will contribute to building secure, reliable, and user-friendly applications that are essential for operational systems. The role requires a developer adept at full-stack development and comfortable using AI tools to boost efficiency.

What you'll do

• Develop, build, and maintain full-stack web applications using .NET Core, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Create accessible and user-friendly interfaces that comply with Section 508 standards.
• Construct and manage backend services and databases to support application features and connections.
• Write clear, maintainable, and testable code following established standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across various environments.
• Create and execute unit tests, and support automated testing initiatives.
• Collaborate with teams using Jira and Confluence for task management and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Document technical designs and implementation details.
• Assist with deployment, monitoring, and upkeep of applications in Azure environments.
• Explore and implement AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, speed, and problem-solving.
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications for features like intelligent automation or natural language processing.
• Use AI tools to enhance testing processes, including test case generation and defect analysis.
• Apply AI engineering principles to development workflows and documentation.
• Evaluate and suggest AI tools and services to improve team productivity and software quality.
• Ensure responsible and secure use of AI in accordance with federal guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development.
• Strong skills in .NET Core, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MS SQL Server development.
• Proven experience with debugging, unit testing, and delivering production-ready software.
• Experience working in Agile environments using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
• Understanding of secure coding practices.
• U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications using platforms like Azure AI services.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and tools.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Azure services such as App Services, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
• Experience with SQL Server environments.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and infrastructure-as-code.
