Cloud Architect

About the role

V Group Inc. is seeking a Cloud Architect to support the State of South Carolina Department of Technology Operations. You will manage shared services and help state agencies transition to a managed cloud broker model while overseeing AWS and Azure infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Maintain and automate the Cloud Management Platform.
• Guide agency staff through cloud migration processes.
• Provide daily operational oversight for AWS and Azure environments.
• Implement strategies to support the state cloud initiative.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 10 plus years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or architecture.
• 8 plus years of technical architecture experience including hands-on engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of AWS experience covering IAM, Organizations, networking, and cost management.
• 3 to 5 years of Azure experience covering RBAC, Azure AD, networking, and cost management.
• 3 to 7 years of enterprise cloud governance or architecture experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in cloud platform operations and migrations.
• 3 plus years of technical leadership and knowledge transfer experience.

Nice to have

• Advanced proficiency in Terraform.
• Experience with scaling technologies.
• Background in container platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker.
• Security knowledge including threat detection and penetration testing.
• Proficiency with Datadog, ServiceNow, Aviatrix, or Dome9.
• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, software development, or configuration management.
• AWS or Azure professional certifications.
