About the role
You own the full journey for Unsecured Installments from first user contact through live operation, taking end to end responsibility for outcomes that matter to millions of borrowers. You shape architecture in React and TypeScript while mentoring peers and driving quality across user facing surfaces, ensuring that decisions today do not create avoidable debt tomorrow. This is a full-time position based in the United States with remote flexibility, allowing you to collaborate closely with distributed teams while maintaining a sustainable rhythm. Base compensation is $190,000 over four years, reflecting the impact and ownership expected of this role. You will translate ambiguous business goals into concrete product and technical strategies, balancing user empathy with engineering pragmatism. You will act as a technical leader for the frontend and full stack ecosystem, setting standards that outlast any single project or team member. Your work will directly influence borrower perception of the platform, reliability of the application flow, and long term maintainability of critical services.
What you'll do
Design end to end borrower flows for Unsecured Installments from intake through live operation, considering edge cases, error states, and recovery paths. Architect scalable frontend patterns and enforce standards that guide mobile-web and full stack teams for years, reducing duplication and inconsistency. Conduct rigorous code reviews to lift quality, testing, and observability across every user facing surface, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Own integration with backend and data partners, turning vague requirements into reliable, well measured services with clear contracts and expectations. Coordinate with product and design to sequence a multi month roadmap that balances user needs, business goals, and technical debt in a realistic and transparent way. Champion performance and reliability, defining metrics and experiments that prove real user experience improvements and inform future investment. Build trusted partnerships with backend and data teams to align interfaces, timelines, and operational behavior, ensuring smooth collaboration across domains. Navigate ambiguity by carving concrete experiments and success criteria before writing production code, reducing risk and increasing confidence in delivery. Maintain a strong focus on accessibility, internationalization, and security considerations throughout the lifecycle of major features. Support on call responsibilities where needed, responding to production incidents and prioritizing fixes that protect borrower experience. Collaborate closely with data teams to validate assumptions, measure impact, and iterate based on evidence rather than intuition. Document decisions, patterns, and tradeoffs so that future engineers can understand and extend your work with minimal friction.

You must have hands on experience with React and TypeScript in production digital products, demonstrating deep understanding of component lifecycle, rendering behavior, and user interaction patterns. You must have worked on large, multi month projects that shipped and evolved over extended timeframes, managing complexity, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment. You must understand modern component design, state management, and API contracts for complex user flows, including how to model data for display and mutation. You must demonstrate strong ownership, communicating clearly with diverse teams under tight uncertainty and making progress even when requirements are incomplete.
