What you'll do

• Conduct thorough analyses of asset quality metrics to identify trends and anomalies that may impact portfolio performance.
• Develop and maintain financial models that assess the risk and return profiles of various asset classes.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to enhance predictive models used in underwriting and risk assessment.
• Monitor and report on the performance of existing models, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing findings and actionable insights related to asset quality.
• Participate in the development of new asset quality metrics and benchmarks to improve our evaluation processes.
• Work closely with the risk management team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Assist in the design and execution of stress testing scenarios to evaluate the resilience of our asset portfolios under various economic conditions.
• Engage in continuous learning about industry trends and best practices to keep Upstart at the forefront of asset quality management.
• Support the implementation of new tools and technologies that enhance data analysis capabilities.
• Collaborate with the finance team to align asset quality assessments with overall financial strategy and objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, asset management, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling techniques and asset valuation methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with risk management principles and regulatory frameworks in the financial services industry.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
