Principal Product Marketing Manager, Product Commercialization
Job description
About the Role
At Upside, we are transforming brick-and-mortar commerce by applying the sophistication of online retail - including profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality - to everyday purchasing. Our platform has helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than alternative products, while enabling hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses to earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce flow through Upside annually, directly benefiting retailer partners, consumers, and sustainability initiatives.
The Product Marketer focused on Product Commercialization plays a critical role at the intersection of Product and Retailer Go-to-market (RGTM) teams. This position shapes how retailers perceive and adopt our product, drives internal cohesion, and ensures that product launches align with retailer needs. You will act as the voice of the retailer during product development and lead commercialization efforts for new products and feature releases, directly influencing adoption and revenue growth.
What You'll Do
- Champion the voice of the retailer by conducting market and competitive research to identify product strategy opportunities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Product and Retailer Go-to-market (RGTM) teams to ensure alignment on roadmap priorities.
- Define the internal product GTM hierarchy to enable effective, impactful launches and foster positive retailer reception.
- Contribute to pricing strategy, ensuring price points reflect product value, cover costs, and meet retailer expectations.
- Drive adoption of new products and features among target prospects, channel partners, and existing Upside retailer partners.
- Discover and document new product use-cases based on retailer pain points, translating them into potential solutions and new offerings.
- Partner with Revenue Enablement to equip Sales and Accounts teams with the tools needed to tell the product story, accelerating conversion and expansion opportunities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing, sales enablement, or a related role, preferably in B2B, SaaS, or a high-growth tech environment. Marketplace experience is a plus.
- Proven understanding of product commercialization and experience developing strategies that drive product adoption.
- Outstanding messaging and positioning skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling value propositions.
- Demonstrated ability to craft high-impact sales enablement content, including pitch decks, playbooks, and competitive battle cards.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to align on go-to-market strategies.
- Leadership through influence, earning trust via clear communication, concrete business cases, and compelling storytelling that achieves positive outcomes.
- Data-driven approach, using insights to optimize sales performance and messaging.
- Bias for action and results, with the capacity to work independently and drive initiatives forward in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine passion for problem-solving and applying an analytical approach to new challenges.
- Resiliency and adaptability in taking on new responsibilities as the role evolves.
