About the role
This senior in-house legal position drives the legal strategy for complex B2B and partnership transactions at the intersection of enterprise growth and platform strategy. The role reports directly to the Head of Commercial and Strategic Growth Legal. You will serve as the primary legal advisor for indirect distribution, technology alliances, and channel partnerships, shaping commercial outcomes through precise, business-aware guidance. The position operates within a hybrid work model that combines office-optional collaboration around key milestones with globally distributed teamwork.

What you'll do
You will take primary ownership of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements for global system integrator arrangements, channel partner and reseller agreements, technology alliance and co-sell agreements, enterprise SaaS and platform licensing, API and technology access arrangements, and distribution agreements. You will coordinate closely with commercial and product teams to keep deals moving while managing legal risk. You will champion AI tool adoption inside legal, designing workflows that uphold governance and improve contract cycle efficiency. You will guide global system integrator and reseller negotiations, ensuring partner terms align with Udemy's go-to-market model and risk appetite. You will orchestrate technology alliance and co-sell structures, translating commercial intent into precise contractual language for fast execution. You will review distribution and channel agreements for partners across regions, maintaining compliance and protecting platform integrity. You will ship critical deal documents by iterating with stakeholders, resolving gaps early, and maintaining clarity on obligations and controls. You will build trusted relationships with GSI and partner teams, becoming the strategist they rely on for both legal safeguards and growth enablers. You will support M&A and corporate initiatives that expand Udemy's skills platform, assessing integrations and partnership impacts on the ecosystem.

You will have handled enterprise SaaS, licensing, and channel or indirect sales arrangements in prior roles. You will navigate multi-jurisdiction agreements and global partner ecosystems while respecting varied regulatory expectations. You will operate with a high degree of independence and be ready to grow into broader leadership responsibility within a scaling legal function.
Requirements
You must bring executive-level judgment to interpret ambiguous problems and align legal advice with measurable business outcomes. You must hold at least 3 years of post-JD experience, with a strong portfolio in enterprise technology and partnership transactions. You must demonstrate fluent use of approved AI systems and a clear understanding of AI governance obligations in practice. You must have handled enterprise SaaS, licensing, and channel or indirect sales arrangements in your prior work. You must navigate multi-jurisdiction agreements and global partner ecosystems while respecting varied regulatory expectations.
