About the role

Twitch is seeking a leader to direct the Security Incident Response Team and report to the VP of Security. You will manage detection and response operations while ensuring the organization learns from security incidents through effective collaboration.

What you'll do

• Participate in and eventually provide escalation support for the on-call rotation managed by your direct reports.
• Develop automation strategies to improve the efficiency of incident response workflows.
• Define and apply standards to categorize security alerts and activity.
• Assess the actual and potential impact of security incidents on the platform.
• Report incident details, response actions, and impact assessments to executive leadership.
• Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the company.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing incident handlers and security engineers, or 2+ years of management experience combined with at least 3 years of hands-on incident response work.
• Proven delivery of reactive security programs such as cloud security monitoring, network security monitoring, threat hunting, or incident response.
• Proficiency in automation using Python, Go, Ruby, or Bash.
• Deep understanding of the threat landscape and internet security issues.
• Background in application, network, host, and cloud security.
• Ability to maintain a collaborative approach during incident response.

Nice to have

• Experience mitigating high-impact security risks for a global platform.
• Familiarity with the Twitch platform.

• Salary range: Seattle/Irvine ($175,100 to $236,900 USD); San Francisco ($201,300 to $272,400 USD).
• Total compensation includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
