Software Engineer

About the role

In this position, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software for drone systems. Your focus will be on multi-threaded programming and real-time operating systems, with an emphasis on sensor integration and embedded applications.

What you'll do

• Create, test, document, and deliver software solutions for drone systems using C++ and Python.
• Conduct testing on new features and products, which includes developing verification and validation strategies, creating test plans, executing tests, and reporting results.
• Work independently on testing complex sensing systems while adhering to best engineering practices and producing thorough documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in roles such as Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or Embedded Systems Engineer.
• Proven background in software testing prior to launch, including test plan development and execution, multi-threaded programming, and distributed programming in C++ or Python on Linux.
• Experience with embedded systems development that includes hardware integration and familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Strong technical writing capabilities and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics navigation and sensor integration.
• Familiarity with AWS pipeline development.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in C++ and Python programming languages.
• Knowledge of Linux environments and real-time operating systems (RTOS), including Yocto.
• Experience with multi-threaded and distributed programming techniques.
