Senior Product Manager, Risk

About the role

Trustly is seeking a product leader to manage the risk platform that supports our payment guarantee services. You will define the strategy for our decisioning infrastructure while partnering with engineering and data science to balance approval rates against loss exposure.

What you'll do

• Set the product roadmap for risk infrastructure, including rules management, model integration, and real-time control systems.
• Collaborate with data science teams to convert model outputs into functional requirements, threshold designs, and monitoring frameworks.
• Gain deep technical familiarity with system architecture and data flows to guide engineering teams and resolve technical blockers.
• Manage the economics of payment guarantees by adjusting risk controls to optimize portfolio performance.
• Act as the primary liaison between risk, engineering, finance, legal, and sales departments.
• Manage the product backlog, lead sprint planning, and define clear acceptance criteria for development tasks.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of product management experience focused on fraud, risk, or financial decisioning.
• Practical knowledge of digital payments, specifically ACH mechanics, dispute windows, and settlement timing.
• Experience working directly with data science teams to build, monitor, and refine machine learning models.
• Proficiency in SQL and the ability to participate in technical design discussions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for technical and executive audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to make high-stakes decisions with incomplete data.
