Payroll Manager

About the role

Trustly is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for specific global regions. Reporting to the Global Payroll Director, you will lead a small team while managing the transition from fragmented providers to a unified global payroll platform.

What you'll do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a payroll team focused on European operations.
• Execute the migration of payroll delivery from multiple suppliers to a single global platform.
• Manage payroll processing for salaries, bonuses, and commissions while ensuring local tax and labor regulation compliance.
• Maintain internal controls, standard operating procedures, and statutory filings.
• Perform payroll accounting, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Legal departments to manage data flow and vendor relationships.
• Resolve employee payroll inquiries and support internal or third-party audits.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience.
• At least 1 year of direct management experience.
• Proficiency with global payroll platforms.
• Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and reconciliation processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in the FinTech or technology sector.
• Hands-on experience with HiBob.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and Concur.
• Experience managing payroll transformation projects.
