Back-End Engineer

About the role

Trustly is looking for a developer to help maintain and scale our Open Banking payment network. You will join a product engineering team tasked with managing business rules, partner integrations, and the core infrastructure that supports our global payment platform.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Architect technical solutions, evaluate non-functional requirements, and document new system designs.
• Build and maintain system dashboards, alerts, and metrics using New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.
• Lead technical refinements, organize task-force plans, and assist product managers with business requirements.
• Develop backend services, API endpoints, database repositories, and Admin Portal UI components.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Investigate complex system issues, analyze large datasets and logs, and perform production database updates.
• Provide training and technical guidance to new hires and operational teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational database systems.
• Basic familiarity with Javascript, CSS, and HTML.
• Ability to work effectively within remote, international teams.
• Clear and objective communication skills.
• Ability to participate in meetings in English.
