Staff AI Enablement Engineer at Trustly.
About the role
This role focuses on building the infrastructure and agentic workflows that allow various departments across Trustly to integrate AI into their daily operations. You will function as a high-level technical lead, designing the internal platforms and evaluation systems that enable teams in finance, legal, sales, and engineering to utilize AI effectively.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain the core AI platform, including LLM integration, prompt management, and agentic workflow tools.
- Collaborate with product and engineering groups to integrate AI into payment processing, fraud detection, and risk decisioning systems.
- Create testing frameworks to monitor AI system performance regarding safety, cost, latency, and output quality.
- Conduct technical research on new foundation models and agentic architectures to provide data-backed recommendations.
- Build internal libraries and documentation to help engineering teams implement AI features.
- Work with the VP of AI Enablement to shape the technical roadmap and communicate engineering requirements to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of total software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of specific experience working with LLM infrastructure, applied ML, or AI systems in production.
- Hands-on expertise with RAG, fine-tuning, function calling, and multi-step agentic workflows.
- Proven ability to operate at a Staff level, including mentoring peers and leading technical strategy across multiple teams.
- Experience transitioning AI projects from initial prototypes to large-scale production environments.
- Strong background in writing maintainable, testable, and observable production-grade code.
