UK Public Policy Lead

About the role

TrueLayer is seeking a lead to manage our public policy strategy within the UK. You will report to the VP of Policy and Research, acting as the primary advocate for our open banking and payments interests before government bodies and regulators.

What you'll do

• Identify regulatory barriers and opportunities to inform our advocacy strategy.
• Manage the execution of the UK public policy agenda with full autonomy.
• Cultivate professional relationships with stakeholders at the FCA, HM Treasury, Bank of England, the Payment Systems Regulator, and Parliament.
• Produce reports, op-eds, and press content to establish the firm as a thought leader.
• Advise internal stakeholders on the evolving regulatory landscape and potential business impacts.
• Serve as the company representative at public panels, meetings, and media engagements.
• Prepare leadership for high-level policy discussions and speaking appearances.
• Contribute to the broader strategic direction of the company.

Requirements

• Demonstrated history of successful policy advocacy and influencing decision-makers.
• Deep familiarity with the operations of Westminster, the UK government, and financial regulators.
• Proficiency in project management, including setting goals and tracking progress.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory information into clear messaging for diverse audiences.
