About the role
TrueLayer is seeking a Head of Compliance to act as the primary regulatory lead for the Central Bank of Ireland. You will define our compliance strategy, manage external regulatory relationships, and ensure our operational framework meets all European and Irish standards. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both high-level advisory work and direct oversight of our compliance controls.

What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for the Central Bank of Ireland and other EU regulatory bodies.
- Design and implement the compliance roadmap, policies, and internal controls.
- Advise the Board and executive team on regulatory implications of product developments and business strategy.
- Manage second-line compliance monitoring programs and report findings to the Board.
- Oversee regulatory reporting schedules to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Lead company-wide training programs focused on conduct risk, AML, and safeguarding.
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify shifts in European and local legislation.
- Partner with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer on AML, CFT, sanctions, and fraud prevention.
- Lead internal audit engagements and manage the remediation of identified findings.
Requirements
- Ability to perform in a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF-12) role, subject to Central Bank of Ireland fitness and probity approval.
- Experience managing regulatory relationships and filings within the fintech or financial services sector.
- Proven capability to lead compliance frameworks in a scaling, fast-paced environment.
- Strong background in board-level advisory and senior stakeholder management.
- Ability to build processes from the ground up while maintaining operational efficiency.
Nice to have
- Experience managing third-party service delivery and outsourcing arrangements in line with CBI and DORA mandates.
- Expertise in Operational Resilience and EU DORA frameworks.
- Track record of implementing AI-driven tools to optimize compliance workflows.
