TrueLayer is a rapidly expanding payment network seeking a Financial Accountant to bolster its Financial Operations team. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's growth. You will contribute to building scalable finance processes.

What you'll do

Manage the monthly accounting close cycle for various entities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analyzing financial variances.

Oversee the preparation of the annual report and manage the statutory audit process, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors.

Handle VAT reporting, submissions, and payments in collaboration with the finance department.

Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory filings.

Review monthly payroll data to ensure cost centers are accurate and liaise with payroll providers for salary information and annual cost reconciliations.

Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior management and the board.

Manage the capitalization of tangible fixed assets, including running monthly amortization and depreciation schedules in NetSuite and reconciling the fixed asset register.

Examine outstanding trade debtors and creditors to improve debt management.

Reconcile all corporate bank accounts in NetSuite and maintain the central group reconciliation sheet.

Participate in projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance operations.

Requirements

A qualified accountant with substantial experience gained after qualification, ideally within a startup environment.

Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced startup setting.

Proficiency with NetSuite ERP, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

A commitment to continuous improvement, with the capacity to identify, develop, and implement process enhancements.

A proactive and hands-on approach to work.

Nice to have

Familiarity with the payments industry.

Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for bodies like CBI, FCA, and SFSA.

Experience with safeguarding regulations and audits.

Previous experience in a startup setting.
