Principal Product Data Scientist

About the role

This position serves as the primary technical authority within the Product Data Science division. You will establish the technical vision and lead high-impact analytical initiatives to influence product strategy and user experience.

What you'll do

• Define and implement the data science strategy to integrate AI and advanced analytics into product development.
• Advise senior leadership in Product and Engineering on data-driven decision-making.
• Build and scale data science platforms with a focus on automation and reproducibility.
• Develop and deploy AI technologies, specifically Agentic AI and AI agents, from initial concept to production.
• Apply statistical rigor to experimentation, causal inference, and uplift modeling.
• Manage high-profile analytical projects to provide actionable commercial insights.
• Mentor and develop data science staff to improve technical standards.
• Create predictive models and customer segments to guide the product roadmap.
• Translate complex technical findings for stakeholders in Design, Commercial, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Extensive background in data science or quantitative roles with a history of influencing product organizations.
• Expert proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning, regression, classification, clustering, multi-arm bandits, and statistical modeling.
• Proven ability to create and operationalize product-level metrics.
• Demonstrated success in scaling analytics through self-service tools or automated systems.
• Strong leadership skills in coaching and team development.
• Bachelor degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Advanced programming skills for building simulations and data product prototypes.
• Experience combining quantitative data with qualitative research methods like surveys.
• Practical knowledge of LLMs, NLP, or Agentic AI.
• Professional background in travel technology, e-commerce, or two-sided marketplaces.
• Masters degree or equivalent advanced education.
