About the role
Tripadvisor Experiences is seeking a data professional to serve as the analytical lead for product teams. You will manage measurement frameworks, design experiments, and provide insights that shape the direction of our marketplace.

What you'll do
- Design and evaluate A/B tests across the Viator marketplace using rigorous statistical standards.
- Implement best practices for experimentation, including power calculations and guardrail metrics.
- Apply causal inference techniques like propensity scoring, synthetic controls, and difference-in-differences to measure non-randomized impacts.
- Establish measurement frameworks by defining key metrics and building necessary instrumentation.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and regression or tree-based modeling to uncover signals related to customer lifetime value.
- Develop scalable datasets, dashboards, and reporting tools to support self-service analytics.
- Partner with engineering and product management to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders and advocate for data-driven decisions even when results challenge existing hypotheses.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in data science, quantitative research, or analytics within a data-focused company.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for handling large datasets.
- Experience managing the end-to-end A/B testing lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of Python for modeling, analysis, and experimentation.
- Competence with data visualization platforms such as Looker or Tableau.
- Proven ability to influence business strategy through data insights.
- Capacity to thrive in ambiguous environments and define research questions independently.
Nice to have
- Practical experience with advanced statistical methods like Bayesian approaches.
- Familiarity with NLP or LLM tools for tasks such as content classification.
- Background in e-commerce or the travel industry, particularly with two-sided marketplace dynamics.
