About the Position

Location and Engagement
This position is based in San Diego, California. The Associate Attorney will handle cases arising under California law, specifically within landlord-tenant and habitability domains. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters in these areas.
Compensation
The firm offers an annual salary of $180,000.00 for a term of three to five years. This compensation reflects the responsibilities and requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
You will conduct comprehensive intake interviews to evaluate dispute facts and formulate case strategy. The position involves organizing pleadings, drafting motions, and managing discovery responses. You must execute thorough legal research focused on California housing and habitability statutes.
The Associate Attorney will represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and client conferences, both remotely and in person. You will prepare witnesses, develop trial themes, and coordinate deposition activities. Maintaining consistent client communication and aligning tactics with opposing counsel is essential.
You will collaborate with senior attorneys to shape case strategy and pursue efficient resolutions. The role requires mapping procedural steps from filing through judgment or settlement execution. Drafting pleadings, written discovery, case evaluations, and client correspondence falls within your duties. You will also assist with depositions, witness preparation, and trial preparation.
Professional Requirements
Candidates must hold active California bar admission in good standing. At least one year of landlord-tenant or habitability litigation experience is required. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills are mandatory.
You must work independently and effectively within a team environment. Strong oral advocacy, deposition, and case management skills are necessary. The ability to manage multiple deadlines and concurrent case assignments in a fast-paced setting is critical.
Additional Information
