What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable and secure infrastructure solutions using AWS, ensuring optimal performance and availability for all services.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary remediation measures to enhance the security posture of the organization.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a fundamental aspect of all projects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, security policies, and compliance requirements to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Monitor system performance and security logs to proactively identify and respond to potential threats or incidents, minimizing downtime and data loss.
• Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve security breaches or vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and provide recommendations for improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in infrastructure management and security, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
• Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity and resilience in the face of potential disruptions.
• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the security and efficiency of the infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Engage with external partners and vendors to assess and integrate third-party solutions that meet our security and infrastructure needs.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and security, with a strong focus on cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing secure infrastructure solutions, with a deep understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Bash, or Terraform, to streamline infrastructure management and security processes.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, and their security implications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar are highly desirable.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Splunk, ELK Stack, or similar, to enhance security visibility and incident response capabilities.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for staying ahead of emerging security threats and trends.

Nice to have

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and practices.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS or HIPAA.
• Experience in managing hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with security tools such as vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection solutions.
