Software Engineer at TP ICAP.
About the role
TP ICAP is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in New York to build and maintain systems for our fixed income trading platform. You will take ownership of technical features while mentoring junior staff and ensuring our software meets strict security and architectural standards.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Build and support scalable software solutions that align with our technical roadmap.
- Work alongside architects and principal engineers to uphold development standards.
- Manage the full lifecycle of features from initial design to final deployment.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members to improve overall technical output.
- Coordinate with QA departments to verify software quality and testing coverage.
- Enforce engineering standards through code reviews and CI/CD processes.
- Identify and implement improvements by testing new technology solutions.
- Report project status, technical risks, and blockers to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in architectural planning and influence technical strategy.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, risk, and security protocols.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
- Background in building applications within Unix and Linux environments.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with messaging technologies including Solace and Google Protocol Buffers.
- Knowledge of real-time event processing, including signals, database events, and messaging.
- Experience using Jira for bug and feature tracking.
- Understanding of secure coding principles and software design.
- Ability to solve complex problems within an Agile team structure.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience with microservices or serverless architectures.
- Background in trading systems or financial markets.
- Knowledge of low-latency systems and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms like AWS and Docker.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Amazon Q or Kiro.
- Familiarity with git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
