Technical Program Manager - SAP Master Data & S/4HANA Migration | Remote

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Program Manager to spearhead critical SAP master data initiatives. This role involves leading S/4HANA migrations, establishing robust master data governance, and shaping cross-domain data architecture. You will be the central technical authority, guiding strategy and execution.

What you'll do

• Direct the overall planning and sequencing for SAP master data projects, including migration cutover schedules, dependency identification, and data freeze protocols.
• Provide expert technical guidance on master data architecture to delivery, functional, and platform teams.
• Establish and manage the target data model for key master data areas like Customer, Material, and Vendor.
• Lead discussions on data conversion strategies, hierarchy structures, and defining the authoritative source for data.
• Set technical standards for data model enhancements, custom fields, and governance processes, including SAP MDG.
• Oversee the mock data load process, defect resolution, and reconciliation methods to ensure data accuracy.
• Coordinate various teams to manage risks, remove obstacles, and ensure projects stay on track and within scope.
• Review new integrations and data distribution methods impacting master data from an architectural perspective.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing status updates and explaining technical details to business audiences.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP master data architecture, general data architecture, or technical program management within SAP environments.
• Experience with at least one complete S/4HANA implementation or ECC to S/4 conversion, preferably including Business Partner conversion.
• Practical, hands-on expertise with SAP MDG or similar master data governance tools.
• A solid understanding of data modeling, hierarchy design, and migration techniques such as SAP Migration Cockpit or LSMW.
• Familiarity with integration methods like ALE/IDoc, DRF/SOA, and OData/REST APIs.
• Demonstrated success in managing program risks, scope, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, to articulate complex technical subjects to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• SAP certifications in Master Data Governance, S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement, or Finance.
• PMP or other recognized project/program management certification.
• TOGAF 9 or 10 certification.
• CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) credential.
• Experience with data quality tools such as SAP Information Steward, Syniti, Stibo, Collibra, or Informatica MDM.
