We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Emerging Product Engineering Team at TikTok USDS Joint Venture. Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and growth teams to define key performance indicators and foundational metrics for early-stage products.
- Analyze user behavior and engagement patterns to provide insights that shape product strategies and facilitate successful market entry.
- Design and conduct experiments to test new features and strategies, ensuring rapid iteration and validation.
- Partner with data engineering teams to create scalable data pipelines and dashboards that maintain high data quality.
- Clearly communicate data insights to both global engineering teams and local stakeholders across various departments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Mathematics.
- At least 3 years of experience in data science or product analytics, with a focus on consumer-facing applications.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with at least one programming language for data analysis, such as Python or R.
- A solid grasp of statistical principles, experimental design, and key product metrics including retention, conversion, and engagement.
Nice to have
- Experience in an incubator, startup, or similar environment focused on product development from inception to launch.
- Strong business insight with a history of transforming complex data into actionable product recommendations.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker and experience with distributed data processing technologies such as Hive or Spark.

Practical notes
This role requires on-site presence, with a full-time schedule of up to 5 days a week. The compensation for this position ranges from $144,000 to $329,334 annually, depending on various factors such as experience and location.
