Senior Infrastructure Engineer (GCP Cloud)

About the role

You will join a consultancy team to design and deploy infrastructure solutions that enable clients to deliver software effectively. This role involves balancing technical implementation with advisory work to help organizations adopt DevOps practices and cloud-native strategies. You will work across diverse teams to solve complex technical challenges while maintaining high standards for system quality and automation.

What you'll do

• Implement and optimize hosting platforms on Google Cloud Platform while managing databases and application servers.
• Collaborate with clients to define technical roadmaps and automate continuous delivery processes.
• Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and platform engineering.
• Partner with engineering leadership to align technical strategies with business objectives.
• Monitor system performance, security, and availability to ensure project deliverables meet expectations.
• Contribute to the internal growth of the Thoughtworks cloud practice through knowledge sharing and capability development.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience designing and managing enterprise-scale hosting environments using Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and various CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language and experience building Linux, Windows, or container-based clusters.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, virtualization, and application runtime platforms including serverless and container clusters.
• Understanding of security principles, including secrets management, network security, and supply chain protection.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated testing frameworks, including unit, stress, and performance testing.
