Senior Developer (Next.JS)

About the role

You will join a consultancy team to design and build software that drives digital change for clients. This role involves working alongside analysts, designers, and project managers to solve complex business problems through clean, iterative code and technical leadership. You will act as a mentor to junior consultants while advocating for high engineering standards and collaborative team environments.

What you'll do

• Develop large-scale distributed systems using microservices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to design features, prototypes, and customer experiences.
• Implement DevSecOps practices to secure and deploy software throughout the development cycle.
• Apply technical insights from the Thoughtworks Technology Radar to client projects.
• Mentor less-experienced team members and share technical knowledge.
• Oversee the full software delivery process from initial ideation to final deployment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Proficiency in Next.js and Node.js.
• Strong background in Object-Oriented programming.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Extreme Programming (XP).
• Practical knowledge of TDD, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore due to client security requirements.
• Ability to work onsite at Thoughtworks or client offices up to five days per week.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Active participation in the external tech community through blogging, open source contributions, or speaking engagements.
