About the role
The Heist, the production studio within Thinkingbox, is looking for a Senior Motion Designer to join our team. You will focus on high-level craft, working directly with creative leadership to produce motion graphics for brand films, social campaigns, and experiential projects.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Produce 2D and 3D motion graphics for various platforms and visual styles.
- Create storyboards, styleframes, and initial motion tests to define project aesthetics.
- Work alongside Art Directors, Creative Directors, and Producers to execute production goals.
- Manage complex projects independently, handling both creative and technical hurdles.
- Ensure all final deliverables meet a high standard of quality and visual consistency.
- Mentor junior staff members by offering constructive design feedback.
- Monitor new software and production techniques to improve studio workflows.
- Manage project timelines by providing accurate effort estimates and status updates.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in animation or motion design.
- A portfolio that highlights strong design fundamentals, animation skill, and stylistic range.
- Expert knowledge of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Redshift, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deep understanding of visual storytelling, including typography, composition, and pacing.
- Proven experience navigating professional production pipelines from the concept phase to final export.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project ownership.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Houdini, X-Particles, Marvelous Designer, or Substance Painter.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine, AI-assisted workflows, or other new motion technologies.
- Background in live action, editorial, or VFX pipelines.
