About the role
The Dell Medical School is seeking a professional to build and maintain healthcare data infrastructure that powers clinical, research, and operational analytics. You will work alongside software engineers, data scientists, and clinical informatics teams to create high-performing pipelines that ensure data quality and accessibility across the organization.

What you'll do
- Design and maintain scalable architectures for structured and unstructured healthcare data.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and AWS big data tools.
- Develop data lakes, warehouses, and marts using platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Configure cloud storage and compute environments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Implement schema designs, indexing, and partitioning to ensure high availability.
- Create reusable data models and components for reporting and self-service analytics.
- Automate manual processes and support CI/CD workflows for data engineering.
- Enforce data governance, security, and HIPAA compliance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or ETL/ELT development.
- Proficiency with big data platforms such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Practical experience with AWS services including EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Glue, and DynamoDB.
- Programming or scripting skills in Python, Java, Scala, or C++.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Nice to have
- Master degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering.
- Five or more years of experience in healthcare data architecture or analytics.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with Python-based data transformation frameworks.
- Knowledge of stream processing, message queuing, and metadata management.
- Experience with clinical data and healthcare reporting.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Data Analytics, Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA), or Project Management Professional (PMP).

- Salary starts at $71,060 and is commensurate with qualifications.
- This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored visa sponsorship.
