Senior Planner - Menswear

About the role

You will lead the financial and product strategy for our Menswear category to drive growth and profitability. This role involves balancing analytical rigor with creative insight to manage stock levels, negotiate with suppliers, and mentor your team.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop and execute mid to long term strategic plans for the department.
• Create detailed season strategy packs supported by financial modeling.
• Monitor category and brand performance, addressing underperformance and identifying growth opportunities.
• Partner with Buyers and the Planning Manager to optimize seasonal profit.
• Propose promotional activity and marketing campaigns that protect margins.
• Negotiate delivery dates, merchandise requirements, and contracts with suppliers.
• Manage team workloads and priorities during peak periods.
• Deputize for the Planning Manager when necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate with and challenge senior management effectively.
• Experience in developing and mentoring direct reports, including setting KPIs and managing training needs.
• Strong analytical skills to forecast trends and manage financial plans.
• Capability to drive process improvements and system efficiencies.
• Ability to manage cross-functional relationships to strengthen the department position.
