Merchandise Planning Manager

About the role

THE ICONIC is seeking a manager to lead the planning operations for our Men, Kids and Home categories. You will report to the Planning Director and focus on maximizing profitability through strategic merchandise management from initial conception to final sale.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute mid to long-term strategies to drive segment growth and profitability.
• Prepare and present comprehensive strategy packs supported by detailed financial planning.
• Manage merchandise performance, addressing underperforming areas and identifying new opportunities to meet KPIs.
• Lead category-wide projects and support company-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with the buying team to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
• Mentor, coach, and develop planning team members.
• Coordinate with marketing to ensure promotional activities are effective and margin-conscious.
• Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure a unified approach to category management.

• Strong commercial acumen and instinctive trading ability.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a proven capacity to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous process improvement and challenging the status quo.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with an honest and open approach.
• Experience in leading and inspiring teams.
• Understanding of how to align goals with company values and principles.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning management.
• Background working within an e-commerce fashion retail environment.

• Expert-level proficiency in Excel.
• Financial forecasting and trend analysis.
• Strategic planning and category management.
